Grapefruit diet
- Ingredients:

- Result: 7-15 lbs
This famous diet promises to lose about 6-8 lbs a week. Diet is known since 1930s. This short-term, quick weight loss plan also often called Hollywood diet or the Mayo diet. The secret of this diet is in its ingredients that cause fat burn which leads to fast weight loss. Grapefruit diet is low-carbohydrate, moderate-protein diet – one of the low-calorie diet with about 800-1000 calories/day. The most important rule: NO FOOD after 7 pm.
- First day:
Breakfast: grapefruit or its juice without sugar, 2 slices of ham (about 2 oz total), 1 cup of coffee or tea without sugar;
Lunch: 1 grapefruit and 9 oz of fruit salad seasoned with lemon juice (use any non starch-containing fruits plus greens), 1 cup of coffee or tea without sugar;
Dinner: 4 oz of fat-reduced beef, green salad seasoned with lemon juice, 1 cup of tea with 1 tbs of honey.
- Second day:
Breakfast: grapefruit or its juice without sugar plus 2 hardboiled eggs, 1 cup of coffee or tea without sugar;
Lunch: 1 grapefruit plus 4 oz of cottage cheese, 1 cup of coffee or tea without sugar;
Dinner: 7 oz of boiled fish, large bowl of veggie salad seasoned with lemon juice and olive oil, 1 toast.
- Third day:
Breakfast: grapefruit or its juice without sugar, 2 tbs of oatmeal or cereal with raisins, nuts (exclude peanuts), and light yogurt or skim milk (4 tbs);
Lunch: 1 grapefruit, 1 bowl of veggie soup or veggie broth, 2 toasts;
Dinner: ½ of grapefruit, 7 oz of boiled chicken, and 2 grilled tomatoes, 1 cup of tea.
- Fourth day:
Breakfast: 1 glass of tomato juice, 1 hardboiled egg, 1 cup of tea with slice of lemon;
Lunch: 1 grapefruit plus large bowl of veggie salad (cucumber, bell pepper, celery, salad leaves, broccoli, etc.) seasoned with lemon juice and olive oil, 1 toast;
Dinner: 14 oz of steamed vegetables (broccoli, carrots, celery etc.), 1 cup of tea, 1 glass of grapefruit juice or 1 grapefruit before going sleep.
- Fifth day:
Breakfast: medium bowl of fruit salad (grapefruit, orange, apple), 1 cup of coffee or tea without sugar;
Lunch: 1 large baked potato with 7 oz of veggie salad;
Dinner: 7 oz of beef patty (or chicken, fish). 1 tomato or 1 glass of tomato juice. 1 glass of grapefruit juice or 1 grapefruit before going sleep.
- Sixth day and seventh day you can choose any of the day meals listed above.
When feel strong hunger during a day you can consume between meals 1 glass of butter milk, 1 apple or orange, and 1 tbs of honey to use as sweetener for tea during the day. We recommend green tea with slice of lemon, otherwise don’t drink butter milk. Coffee must be fresh made of espresso only. Before going to sleep you can only eat 1 grapefruit and no yogurts. Try to schedule meals each 5 hours after breakfast. Salt avoid completely because it slows down the diet. No souses. No spices except red chili. As a fish you can eat tuna in water, do not consume any high fat content type of fish. Only lean meat (fat reduced). If you will be honest with yourself while dieting – fast weight loss is guaranteed.
